We have a No-Returns policy

In general, ‘free returns’* is looked at as a blessing. In reality, there is no such thing as a free return.  The moment the buyer sees ‘free returns’ he purchases instinctively, leaving reflections for later. After the product arrives, the buyer wonders if

  • the tray is too big for my coffee table
  • the bag is too small for my needs
  • the colour of the basket doesn’t match the interiors of my kitchen
  • the storage boxes don’t fit in my cupboard

…worst of all,

  • I didn’t want to keep this anyway

Most of aardra’s products when returned, cannot be refurbished and sold as new as they are handcrafted and sometimes custom-made. They cannot make it back to the shelf because of their condition, due to use, damage, or even just opened boxes. Reverse logistics activities generate substantial emissions and resources consumption. This exercise leads to shopping fatigue in you and a revenue loss for us, not to mention the heavy bill Mother Nature pays.

The responsibility of the massive climate impact of the free returns, is ours as manufacturers and yours as customers. An obvious step forward is to create transparency on the production and transportation process. We want to help you get the right item from the beginning. Our product imagery is suggestive of how the products might fit into different settings, when in use. Every product is shown with answers to preemptive questions. We would love to answer more.
